Hi. As a part of introducing to you the Taiwanese environment as it is introduced to me I’d like to start with the Taiwanese farmland green tree frog.

General information
The farmland green treefrog is an endemic species in Taiwan. He is living in the south-west of Taiwan such as Chiayi, Yunlin and Tainan Counties. He is living mostly on farmland like abandoned sugarcane fields or bamboo forests. He is voted “endangered” by the IUCN RedList because his Area of Occupancy is less than 500km2.
Actual situation
The Taiwanese government is still avoiding to do something to protect the frog. Accordingly environmental organization as the Tainan Community University or trying to work for that goal with sensitization of the people and the government with demonstrations, education and information. In the Tainan Community University the frog recently took place in lots of courses, especially arts. For example as a blanket, a stuffed animal an likewise more.
