In my first entry to this Blog I want to tell you in a nutshell about mysecond working day. We made a trip to Yunlin County where one of thebiggest agricultural areas of Taiwan is to be found. link to https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Tds ... s9Q/s480/1282912062_0.jpg

I have been told about different ecological happenings in this area, like the contamination of the ground water and the irrigation canal which is more cow dung than water by now. Also I have been told about the government’s efforts to get rid of some kind of a water snail which is destroying the farmers harvest. Next, we visited a museum about sculptures from Taiwanese temples. In the restaurant we enjoyed a nice meal and Taiwanese tea and have been shown a system to cool the air down without air-conditioning.

After that we went to the city nearby were we visited the local temple. Also we were guided threw a hospital and a house which were decorated with sculptures built out of the same materials to built the temples. That’s about it. After a vegetarian dinner we started the long journey home.
